Competitive Outdoor Cooking NZ Limited

Competitive Outdoor Cooking NZ Limited (COCNZ) hold the rights to administer and operate the New Zealand Barbecue Alliance (NZBA) sanctioning system.
COCNZ seek to promote competitive outdoor cooking without limitation to style, ingredients, or methodology. The NZBA product is centered around American (USA) style Low n Slow barbecue, and features proteins cooked in appliances that are heated using solid fuel such as charcoal, pallets and firewood. This style of barbecue competition can be found across the globe and similar sanctioning bodies operate in their respective markets, including several within the USA.

NZBA League

The NZBA League comprises of cooking events run throughout New Zealand. The NZBA is a sanctioning body that administrates the judging and scoring of qualifying cooking contests. NZBA registered “Barbecue Teams” cook off and receive scores based on the NZBA Sanctioning system. These points are then accumulated over the Season Period. Barbecue Teams compete for event recognition, prize money and National Rankings to validate their barbecue cooking skills.

 

NZBA Facebook Group

The NZBA Facebook group is a community of outdoor cooks showcasing all forms of outdoor cooking using solid fuel appliances.

 

NZBA Competitors Group

Once individuals have registered to compete in a NZBA sanctioned event, they may apply to join the NZBA Competitors Group on Facebook.

This is a place to discuss and collaborate team info, event specific details and ask questions relating specifically to competition cooking.

 

NZBA Judges Group

Once individuals have registered to judge in a NZBA sanctioned event, they may apply to join the NZBA Judges Group on Facebook.

This is a place to collaborate with other Judges on info, event specific details and ask questions relating specifically to competition judging and for the NZBA to be able to develop a crew of Table Captains and Head Judges.

 

NZBA Promoters Group

Once Promoters have registered to host a NZBA sanctioned event, they may apply to join the NZBA Promoters Group on Facebook.

This is a place to for promoters to discuss event specific details and ask questions relating specifically to the best way to Promoters and host NZBA events.
